Mask use in healthcare settings remains mandatory, and we continue to enforce this policy. This is for the protection of all our customer and clinicians. While asymptomatic Covid transmission in the community remains high, and hospitalisations continue, we have a duty to protect all our customers and clinicians. That is why your agreement to wear a type iiR surgical mask while on our premises remains a condition of booking. If you disagree with this policy, we respectfully ask you to cancel your booking.

We continue to implement stringent measures to ensure your safety, including sanitising surfaces, triaging everyone before they attend, wearing full PPE, adding extra time between appointments to ensure customers don’t cross paths as they enter and leave the premises, checking temperatures before customers come in, sanitising customers’ hands and enforcing the wearing of a Type iiR surgical face mask (which we will provide if you don’t have one) for everyone’s protection. Due to these measures, we believe our clinic rooms continue to be the safest place you can be.

If you are booking online you will need to complete a form after you book your appointment. Please check your emails and spam/junk folder for any emails from Hearing First as they will contain a link to complete a triage and consent form. A record of your triage and consent is required by our professional governing body, therefore we cannot provide treatment if this form hasn’t been completed.

Original Covid-19 Article:

As an essential healthcare service, Audiology Services such as Hearing First and The Microsuction Earwax Removal Network were specifically exempted from the legal requirement for businesses to close. We implemented stringent measures to ensure your safety, including sanitising surfaces, triaging everyone before they book, wearing full PPE, adding extra time between appointments to ensure customers don’t cross paths as they enter and leave the premises, checking temperatures before customers come in, sanitising customers’ hands and enforcing the wearing of a Type iiR surgical face mask (which we will provide if you don’t have one)* for everyone’s protection. Due to these measures, we believe our clinic rooms are the safest place you can be.

Although a significant proportion of the adult population has been vaccinated, we feel that continuing with these measures is the right thing to do. We have made a change to how we triage people, and if you are booking online this is now done after you book your appointment. Please check your emails and spam/junk folder for any emails from Hearing First as they will contain a link to complete a triage and consent form. We cannot provide treatment if this form hasn’t been completed.

According to the Goverment’s advice in National lockdown: Stay at Home – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk), while travel is generally to be avoided, you can travel for the purpose of “visiting hospital, GP and other medical appointments or visits where you have had an accident or are concerned about your health”.

You can read more about the UK legislation here.

* Although some people are exempt from wearing face masks when entering a “shop”, in the most recent government legislation Audiology Services are exempt from the definition of shop, so everybody must wear a mask, which we will provide, for the protection of others, otherwise treatment cannot be provided.
